Highlight Budda-Box Cancer Benefit
Budda-Box Fight Against Cancer will be hosting an evening of gourmet
dinning andentertainment on Saturday, March 1st at 6:30pm at the
Father Marquette Center, St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Montello.
Evan Topel will be catering the gourmet dinner.
We are happy to announce that
The Marquette County Chapter of Thrivent Financial For Lutherans
will be supporting us with this fund raiser.
Starting the six course meal,
will be plated appetizers: stuffed mushrooms caps
with artichoke & red pepper, chilled balsamic shrimp, 5 year aged cheddar
and fire roasted brushed. This will be served with a White Riesling.
The soup course will be wild mushroom bisque with
Madeira cream garnish and rustic breads.
The salad course will be spring Caesar salad:crisp romaine tossed with
traditional Caesar dressing with tomatoes, red onions, cucumbers,
fresh asparagus, croutons with aged Wisconsin cheese.
The intermezzo course will be Citrus Italian Ice with Asti Supumante Spritz.
The entree course will be herb crusted pork loin and apple demi sauce,
garlic and sage roasted chicken quarter with tarragon hollandaise,
saffron and chive jasmine rice pilaf, brandied sweet potatoes and
herb ratatouille. This course will be served with a white wine.
The dinner will be topped off with the dessert course of
chocolate chess pie, with Caribbean style banana and
strawberries and tropical frozen custard.
Entertainment will be provided by the Heartland Band,
featuring old time, folk and bluegrass music.
They will be performing starting at 5:30 when the doors open, throughout
the dinner and will also continue after the dinner into the evening.
Once again there will be a Silent Auction and the
doors will be open at 5:30 p.m. for viewing.
Tickets need to be purchased by February 21 and are available to the
first 180 people for $50.00 each.
They may be purchased at Spees Floral in Montello and Westfield.
Twenty dollars from each ticket sold will be used directly by Budda-Box
in assisting residents of Marquette County
who have been diagnosed with cancer.
Budda-Box is an organization of volunteers who have helped area
cancer patients for 16 years through benefit events and donations.
More than 600 families in Marquette County have received assistance
from Budda-Box along with an additional 80 people last year.
